Scott and I got a taste of what it will be like to have sick children last night, only with our child covered in brown and white fur. Last night Tober thought it would be great to eat the entire contents of our bathroom trash. Back in Prairie Village we would have stuck Tobe Tobe in the backyard and wait for the items to run their course, but we don't have that luxury here in the apartment, and we didn't want it to show itself in the middle of the night on our bed (since it's our only piece of furniture in the apartment right now), so we had him drink Hydrogen Peroxide (a natural vomit inducer IN DOGS. NOT PEOPLE!) So then we played the waiting game while our dog upchucked all over the kitchen tile. It was a fantastic way to spend our midnight. BUT you will be happy to know Tober is a-okay and Scott and I are almost well rested.
Okay, I'm bored. SO bored. INCREDIBLY bored. I got to talk to friend today, and that was wonderful. I'm glad she's bored like I am, it helps to know that others are sleeping in and wasting their mornings away like I am. I was joking with my mom that I look forward to doing laundry. It at least breaks up the monotony. Scott came home for lunch this afternoon while I was folding and started to help and I yelled "NO! STOP! If you HELP what will I do this afternoon?" It's a sad life. One I'm sure I won't get much sympathy for.
I've come to find there are two different kinds of people in this world. Those that rent properties TO others and those that rent properties FROM others.
Scott and I are of the second breed. I spent this afternoon on the phone with many different personalities discussing number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, pet allowances, rent prices, appliances, rent etc. Then Scott and I braved the journey into two different homes.
I have come to find there are two types of homes too. Those that are too large and those that are too small. Scott and I are trying to find the one that is JUST right.
The problem that we're running into is that we would like to have a place to live in August, and have that lined up now. The people we've talked to want to get rid of their properties as SOON as possible, which is understandable, I don't fault them that. My worry is that we live in a college town, and if we wait until August we will have nothing. My other worry is that we will have to stay in this bachelor pad, which while fun for right now might lose some of it's magic come next spring when I want to sit on a couch, instead of the bed which is in the living room....
But I digress. After our first round of interviews the score is rent owners two, Sarah and Scott nothing. Nothing but the bachelor pad.
